Add a coordinator to Home Assistant with ZHA
ZHA is Home Assistant's built-in Zigbee integration. Silabs sticks such as ZBM-MG24 often work without flashing; the setup flow usually finds the serial device on its own.
Prepare
- Plug the coordinator into the HA host with a USB extension (avoid USB 3.0 ports)
- Confirm the OS sees a serial device, for example
/dev/ttyUSB0or/dev/ttyACM0 - Do not run ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT on the same coordinator at once
Add the integration
- Settings → Devices & services → Add integration → search ZHA
- Pick the serial port; leave baud rate at the default
- Open the integration and use Add device, then put end devices into pairing
ETH gateway over the network
If you use Ethernet instead of USB, enter the gateway socket address in ZHA or Z2M (see the product notes), not a local tty device.
